The Reason fable 3 isnt taking long to make...

well its taking long but not as long as fable to fable 2 because of this i wanted to make a thread about it so people that always ask this questing and thinking its a rushed game will understand...

just the fact fable and fable 2 like had a 4 year gap..

its been said a million times, it took long beause

A. They Had a change in console systems, meaning almost everything in fable would be useless cause they were working with new tech


B. New Graphics, World, Scripting, Textures, Audio's, Ingame Cut Scenes Ect.. that Would of taken LONG LONG LONG time

C. They Can release a fable 3 game so early cuz they will be using exsiting Graphics, maps, textures , scripting ect. while adding more. think of it as a HUGE GIGANTIC ENORMOUS expansion really. and with doing so and using the same graphics, maps, textures, scripting ect, i think they found a way to read ur fable 2 save, as its practically , like i just said a HUGE GIGANTIC ENORMOUS expansion

I was wondering why it wasn't taking long. I was worrying that Fable III was going to be a rushed piece of crap.

You know, this reminds me a lot of Gears of War. The first one took years to develop because, at the time, developers weren't entirely sure how to work with the new hardware. The second one took far less time to develop because the developers had a thorough understanding of the hardware's capabilities, and knew what they were doing.

The same thing applies here, I'd imagine.

I was thinking also when fable came out PM wasn't sure wether he wanted a series, and in fable 3 they might just use the same engine and staff know how to use it. Also if it is quick u can make up with releasing more than 2 dlc's. Maybe 5 that cost microsoft point and one that isn't so big (maybe a small location, with a quest an a few items) for free.

I was a bit harsh but hay, if fable 3 came out on the 720 i wouldn't get it. Mind you with natal coming then it is like the 720 will be pushed back for a releasi in a year or 2

exactly. since fable 3 will most likely use the same engine, or at the very least basic engine as fable 2, all they have to do is the story, art, locations and stuff which takes surprisingly little time.

Years until the next new console yet. Microsoft still have lots of things to do with the 360 at the moment. Fable III will release on 360 and not a new platform also.

They should take a little longer IMO, they could perfect everything, without worrying about graphics or anything, just adding ammersion, emotion, and best of all POLISH!!

what about the fact that there was a few centuries between fable and fable 2, they had to see the transition that would occur and look right. Its only going to be 50 years in time between the worlds of fable 2 and fable 3 which will be less environment, clothing, items, and weapon changes than between the first 2.

i think microsoft should actually fix the mess of problems they already have with the xbox 360 before jumping on the bandwaggon of natal.

Is that so bad?

The release date I found on Fable III is sometime late 2010 - 2 years after the release of Fable II.

Now take a look at Assassin's Creed 2 (AC2).. it is set to be released exactly 2 years after the release of the first Assassin's Creed game, and everyone is psyched about that game!

Then I could go: Ohh... AC2 has only been in development for 2 years and it took much longer to make the first one, so it's probably just gonna be like AC1 with a new story and some new features - basically just a "HUGE GIGANTIC ENORMOUS expansion" - right?

Halo: ODST on the other hand really is basically just a "HUGE GIGANTIC ENORMOUS expansion" but I have HUGE ENORMOUS GIGANTIC expectations for that :lol:
